The seasons shape the Maruia experience, as the nature of the valley and estate wonderfully changes throughout the year. The lodgings, special events and especially our cuisine constantly change to suit the season. This ensures that each visit will be both unique and fulfilling.

For a few weekends this winter, the dining room at Maruia River Retreat will be showcasing beautiful food and produce from in and around the Tasman region - true NZ pastoral cuisine. Normally reserved for stay-in guests, for a limited we are opening the dining experience to locals and those in the know. We do not know if this will ever be repeated so take the chance while you can.
Dates open for reservations: every Friday and Saturday at 7pm; last orders taken at 8pm. Beginning July 26 up to August 31.
RESERVATIONS are required as we have only a few seats available per weekend. Overnight stay packages available for the full experience.

Our gourmet kitchen will offer selections with ingredients and produce sourced from our own organic kitchen-garden and from the best that the region has to offer. We place great emphasis on seasonal food with authentic flavours from the land, delivering fresh, simple and beautiful food. We serve delicious and nourishing cuisine for every season, with a passion for delivering a real food experience.
Throughout the year, in partnership with curated international and local chefs, the entire retreat transforms for a limited time into a gastronomical experience unlike any other.
